Candace Mullikin and Kyle Ashcraft, both of Star City, are engaged to be married Oct. 18, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Star City.

Christmas is my favorite time of year. I love it! Kyle told me that his family was coming over to my Nana's to have an afternoon Christmas dessert. Little did I know that he was planning to propose. Everyone came in and gathered around the Christmas tree, my favorite tradition, and Kyle told me he had just one more gift to give me. He handed me a box in front of all of our friends and family. Inside was an ornament he had hand made that said, "Will you marry me?" He got down on one knee and gave me the ring! Next of course was a photo op with the gorgeous Christmas tree and decor at my Nana's home. I was shocked and so excited!
