North Little Rock residents Felicia Hughes & Rufus Pearson Jr. will say "I do" on September 13, 2014, at the Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church.

For several years, Rufus and Felicia frequented the same barber and beauty salon in North Little Rock. There were a few memorable across the shop converations and chats in passing, but because they were both "attached", they were just that.
One Saturday night in December, 2011, Cajun's Wharf hosted Lalah Hathaway in concert. Felicia was asked to sing backup for her dear friend who was one of the opening acts. Felicia saw Rufus as he entered the concert and spoke to him, having not seen him in years. The concert started and Felicia noticed Rufus sitting on the front row in the VIP section. After her performance, Rufus stood by the entrance waiting on Felicia. He beckoned her over and the two struck up a conversation, leading them to exchange phone numbers.
After a couple of days and some initial unanswered texts and calls from Rufus, Felicia sent a mass text of an upcoming performance of her friend and included him. Rufus called back as a reply to the text, they talked on the phone for hours, and he asked her on a date.
January 2, 2012 was their first official date, and the rest, well...
Early Thursday morning, February 13, 2014... Felicia was getting ready to walk out the door and head off to work. She and Rufus had been passing each other all morning, but she didn't notice anything different or suspicous. Gathering her purse and putting on her shoes, she stood by the nightstand with back facing the garage door. "... just as I turned around, Rufus was on bended knee with the ring box open!" He said... "Baby... will you marry me?"
She said YES!
