Is your idea of a perfect night with your guy a little less gotta-get-my-nails-did-first and a little more dirt-under-the-fingernails? Would you rather eat off of blue speckled tin plates instead of navigating a minefield of course specific cutlery?

If so, chances are, you’ve probably felt overwhelmed with all the things you’ve been told you’re supposed to have on your bridal registry. Snail forks? Lettuce knives? So many fine china patterns you go cross-eyed?

Listen, girl. You don’t need to get that china. If that’s your thing, fantastic. If it’s not, don’t sweat it. Make your own rules.

One of our favorite registry ideas lately? Camping gear.

That’s right. Just like a well-stocked kitchen, the outdoorsy couple has its own set of needs. Add lanterns, cooking gear, sleeping bags, bikes or a cozy new tent for two. There are a thousand different gadgets and doodads you’ve probably been pining for, especially if your current gear has seen better days, so why not put them on the list?

It’s pretty simple, folks. If your Great Aunt Lola knew you were never going to use that asparagus peeler, she wouldn’t have bought it in the first place. Your loved ones will be happy to know you’re enjoying their gifts, so make sure its stuff you enjoy.

Now ditch that crusty old backpack from college, grab yourself a registry scanner and get to work.
