Recent Ouachita Baptist University grads Nicole Mattson of Rowlette, Tex, & Jake Fauber of Marion are engaged to be married January 10, 2015, in Dallas.

We were freshmen at Ouachita Baptist University. She talked a lot (not much has changed). I sat in the back of the classroom and would occasionally "shh" her. From that formed a friendship. We would do ridiculous dances when we saw each other, laughing and smiling. She liked me. I, being the idiot that I often still am, did not like her. We continued to be friends throughout sophomore year. We began "talking" that summer. I was an intern at New Life Church in Little Rock and Conway, and she worked as a lifeguard at a community water park in Rowlett, TX. We talked to each other almost everyday. I thought about her a lot, going back and forth on whether or not I liked her. I would text my bros asking what they thought if Nikki and I started dating. The bros approved. I was looking for a girl that 1) was super fun to be with, and 2) loved Jesus like crazy. I concluded that Nikki was that girl. She still is.
