We're seeing red! In a good way!

Batesville native Mary Castleman and Jared Farley from McKinney, TX, are engaged! The couple is defying an old college rivalry between their alma maters, Henderson State and Ouachita Baptist Universities, by tying the knot on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at the Fellowship Bible Church in Batesville.

These shots from Tyler Rosenthal Photography are to die for, and we're melting over their adorable engagement story from Mary.

I'm still not sure when I realized that Jared was "the one." I had my suspicions when I opened his bathroom cabinet one day, a few months after we began dating, to discover a bottle of the very same cologne that my dad has worn for twenty years. I always said that I wanted to marry a man who smells as good as my dad.

By the time we found ourselves hiking above 12,000 feet on a mountaintop in Colorado, I was absolutely sure that I wanted to marry him, but I had no idea that he was about to ask.

We were in Winter Park, working with a church for the summer. We had just spent the morning whitewater rafting with my parents, who were there visiting. I had vaguely hoped that Jared might propose in Colorado; he informed me that he couldn’t because he didn’t have a ring. This was true; the ring arrived, shipped from a jeweler in Texas, about an hour before he proposed.

We made the climb a bit faster than my parents, stopping near the top to admire an incredible view of the valley below us. Even before the proposal, I remember thinking that I had never seen anything more beautiful. After my parents caught up with us, we posed for pictures. Mid-picture, Jared turned to me with a smile. “Do you know how much I love you?” he asked. Yes… “Do you know that I want to spend the rest of my life with you?” Yes… He got down on one knee.

You know the rest.

Congrats, you two!
