L'Amour de Paris

Is it coincidence that "Arkansas" is a French title, and that Megan Marvin and Charles Hanson's drop-dead-gorgeous engagement session is set in Paris? We think not.

The Fayetteville (also French!) couple will exchange vows on Saturday, August 22, at the St. Edwards Catholic Church, followed by a reception at the Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock (which was originally called "le Petit Rocher," which—you guessed it—is French!).

In case you can't tell, we're quite smitten with this engagement session by Stacy Reeves of L'Amour de Paris. What can we say? It has a certain je ne sais quoi. And the couple's proposal is just as sweet. Here's Megan's side of the story:

Charles and I met in 2009 at the University of Arkansas. We were introduced by mutual friends and started dating a few weeks later. There was almost a two year period where our relationship was a long distance one, but we never had any doubts about our future together. After Charles finished his MBA at the University of Arkansas, he started planning the proposal. He knew I was more or less onto him and was waiting for it to be any day, so he kept it simple.

After a lovely dinner at Theo’s one night we started walking back to the car. I was disheartened because I fully expected the proposal at dinner, which did not happen. On the way back to the car, Charles could see I was bummed and pulled me towards a courtyard next to the Walton Arts Center to talk. As I turned my back to him to sit down, he pulled out the ring and caught me completely off guard. I was completely surprised and thrilled!

We had already been planning a trip to Europe for a few months later, which included a week in Paris. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get some amazing engagement photos taken!

Ooh la la, we're in love! Congratulations, Charles and Megan!
