December brides from all over the state are gearing up for their wedding month, and Kristen Tyler is one of them! She and Dave Gean both hail from Fort Smith, and the two of them will tie the knot on Saturday, Dec. 19, at the First Southern Baptist Church in Central City.
This couple's engagement sesh by Samantha Daniels of The Kindred Creative is nothing but pure sweetness, as is their beautiful love story. Here's how Kristen tells it:
Dave and I grew up living five minutes away from each other and even went to high school together when he was a senior and I was a sophomore. I had always known him as that cute senior baseball player that would never know I existed. He went to Kansas to play college baseball, and I thought I’d never get the chance to talk to him. Little did I know that we would go on our first date two years later.
He finished up his sophomore year in Kansas, then transferred to UCA where I was going to attend. We began long distance one more time when he moved to Oklahoma City for graduate school in the fall of 2014.
We had a tradition during Christmas season where we would go to Creekmore Park to look at the lights after going out to dinner. Three and a half years into dating, we went to look at the lights, but this time he took me to the beautifully lit gazebo and asked me to be his wife. I’m so thankful for his love for Christ, dedication, thoughtfulness and humor. I cannot wait to be Mrs. Gean at the end of 2015!
