Kat Ocampo & Ricco Ardemagni
October 17, 2015
Moss Mountain Farm, Roland

It’s a small world after all. Kat Ocampo of Fords, New Jersey, and Fayetteville native Ricco Ardemagni should’ve met in New York. The two lived just a few blocks apart, even sharing the same view of the Brooklyn Bridge, but it wasn’t until a mutual friend’s Little Rock wedding years later that the two finally met.

Two years later, Ricco surprised Kat with ringside seats to a championship boxing fight in Los Angeles for her birthday. He even arranged a tour and the chance to take pictures in the ring between fights. After the photo, he handed Kat a gift bag containing a boxing glove autographed by her favorite fighter, along with a note that ended with a proposal. When she looked up, Ricco was on one knee, and a few thousand people watched as she said “yes” in her favorite boxer’s corner.

The Inspiration

Comfort and intimacy were key to Kat and Ricco, and they found exactly what they were looking for at Moss Mountain Farm. Its classic Southern elegance allowed the couple to leave the stuffiness behind and enjoy a romantic, inviting atmosphere with family and close friends surrounded by warm fall colors, soft lighting and vintage details.

How They Customized

The vintage details began as arriving guests were met not with a traditional guestbook, but Kat’s collection of postcards from places the two had called home: New York, New Jersey, Spain, Italy and of course, Arkansas.

Choosing to focus on a climate of happiness brought with it wedding favorites like conga lines, family-style dinner tables and a money dance. On a day already filled with laughter, even more broke out when the officiant’s pronouncing of the two as husband and wife was met with an eruption of Razorback hog call noisemakers from the crowd, and the couple made the return trip up the aisle wearing bright red hog noses.
