Having a family that looks out for you is one of life’s greatest treasures, especially when they call you up on a Monday night with plans to set you up with a coworker. But Pine Bluff native Chris Terry heard his cousin out about this girl named Tracy Rowan from Little Rock, and after a quick Facebook search, decided he was in.

After five years of dating, Chris made another big decision. He planned to propose at dinner on New Year’s Eve, but his nerves got the best of him. Then, right after midnight, he got down on one shaky knee and popped the question.

The Inspiration

Owning a stationery business meant Tracy was used to paying attention to details, a skill set that played a huge role in pulling off the classic, timeless, romantic wedding of their dreams. They weaved shades of gold, black and blush into a setting that also paid homage to their own personalities and interests.

How They Customized

Those interests fell into two major areas: Chris’s love for golf and Tracy’s passion for design. Both the groom’s boutonniere and bride’s bouquet contained golf tees, and guests went home with custom, gold foil-embossed golf tees after getting slices of the golf-themed groom’s cake. Tracy’s creative eye shone through in the invitations and programs, as well as the welcome bags for hotel guests that sported an image of Arkansas and contained snacks and a custom “do not disturb” door tag for after the reception.

The couple also worked to make guests’ comfortability a priority. Before the big day, they ditched the traditional rehearsal dinner and went bowling and ate pizza instead. They also arranged a cigar lounge outside the reception and a send-off brunch the next morning.
