Arkansas Bride team member Devan Malone and Ernie Elbert are engaged! This Benton gal and Fort Worth, Texas guy will exchange vows on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Family Farm in Malvern.
We're over the moon for this adorable couple — not to mention the beautiful morning light photos from Drew Cason Photography. Here's Devan's telling of how it all went down:
"Ernie and I had both lived in Little Rock for several years before we met each other. I became friends with a girl last October, who a few weeks later invited me to a dinner at her friends Mike and Ernie's house. My roommate and I knocked on the door and Ernie answered. It wasn't love at first sight, but it was definitely instant attraction and I spent the whole night trying to get to know him better. It was the simplest of meetings, I literally showed up on his front door step. A relationship developed over the next few months, after a lot of prayer and realizing how good the Lord was in bringing us to each other.
Almost a year later, Ernie told me he was going to Texas to dove hunt with his dad for the weekend. I made plans to go play bingo (I know, super cool) with a few girls at a local country club. When we got to the clubhouse, I went to sign in and my name was already written as "Devan Elbert." I turned around and Ernie was standing there! He took me on a walk along the lake where he had photos hanging from our time together. We ended at a pretty spot where he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! With lots of tears and squealing, I said "YES!" The fun wasn't over though, afterwards we went on a boat ride and then Ernie took me to a celebration party with 75 of our closest friends and family. The night was absolutely perfect."
