Crystal Jackson & Bryan Sims
April 9, 2016
The Historic Central Theater and The Hills of Belvedere, Hot Springs

Bryan Sims and Crystal Jackson had been friends for years before Crystal one day asked Bryan to help her move a couch — one that didn’t even need moved. From then on, they’ve been together ever since.

Crystal is a hairdresser and owns a local shop in Hot Springs called Curl Up -N- Dye Salon. When the annual hair show in St. Louis came around, Bryan attended with Crystal with one stipulation: they had to attend a Cardinals game. Six to eight months before this her grandpa passed away. He had always been a huge Cards fan. When game day rolled around, the two went on a tour of the stadium, ending on the field. The tour guide offered to take their picture on home plate and when Crystal turned around, Bryan was down on one knee as the scoreboard lit up with, “Crystal Rae Jackson, Will You Marry Me?” and everyone in the stadium was applauding. Oh, and the Cardinals won.

The Inspiration

Crystal wanted a classic black and white elegance for her wedding day. She wanted a very crisp, almost-gothic-but-girly storybook wedding with cascading white orchids, hundreds of roses and hydrangea flowers with tons of candles floating in crystal vases.

How They Customized

Crystal knew what she didn’t want in her wedding: no barns, no burlap and nothing country. The venue she chose is currently known for the annual Hot Springs Horror Film Festival, so touring the facility was a little scary but her wedding planner knew what she wanted and delivered.

Bryan kept one surprise from Crystal. He wanted to be the one who picked out what she walked down the aisle to. Instead of the traditional wedding march, Bryan secretly recorded his voice saying all the reasons he loves Crystal and what she means to him. Crystal says she cried the whole way down the aisle.
