Blakelee Lane & Justin Rausin
September 9, 2017 • Glenwood
The Wright Estate – Private Residence

In order to keep their engagement a surprise, Justin Rausin enlisted the help of a cousin who would be taking photos for Blakelee Lane’s college graduation. Blakelee managed to convince Justin (so she thought) to take a few pictures with her. During the photo sessions, she was shocked when Justin turned and asked her to marry him. More surprises followed when a visit to show Blakelee’s aunt her ring turned out to be a full-blown engagement party.

The Inspiration

A main source of inspiration came from their unique venue. Blakelee searched for months for an estate with beautiful grounds close to her hometown of Arkadelphia—even emailing strangers requesting to use their home for her wedding. Ultimately, her dad had the answer: a customer’s home. There, gold and a little sparkle mixed with bright, dramatic florals to create a stunning backyard wedding.

How They Customized

Music to Our Ears

  PROCESSIONAL
“Over & Over Again” by Nathan Sykes Ft. Ariana Grande

  BRIDE & FATHER DANCE
“I Loved Her First” by Heartland

  GROOM & DAUGHTER DANCE
“Always Stay Humble & Kind” by Tim McGraw

  RECESSIONAL
“The Way You Make Me Feel” by Michael Jackson

From the music to the “Koolaid,” Blakelee Lane and Justin Rausin’s wedding details were all about family. Blakelee knew she wanted gold bridesmaid dresses after seeing her cousin’s dress. The couple’s daughter, Aubree, delighted as their flower girl and had her own special piece to insert into a unity puzzle.

Aubree and Justin also had their own father/daughter dance to Tim McGraw’s “Always Stay Humble & Kind,” a motto the couple says they teach their daughter.

They paid homage to Justin’s Winnsboro, Louisiana roots with Cajun food from Rx Catering, and drew a connection between the couple’s two states with custom koozies featuring Arkansas and Louisiana connected by a line and the quote, “Love always finds a way.”

Blakelee’s favorite food is pie, so the couple chose to keep their wedding cake small and treat guests to a pie bar. Even their signature drink, “Karen’s Koolaid,” was made by Blakelee’s cousin.
