GABRIELLE SCHRYVER & HUNTER RUSHER
May 28, 2021 / The Venue at Oakdale, North Little Rock

Gabrielle and Hunter met on Bumble. After a year and a half of dating, Hunter popped the question on his 30th birthday at a family cookout, right after they blessed the food. Gabrielle was in total shock, and it created a wonderful memory that the family will never forget.

THE INSPIRATION

The two were engaged for seven months before tying the knot at The Venue at Oakdale in North Little Rock. Because she grew up in the wedding business, Gabrielle pretty much knew exactly what hers would look like. She wanted a minimal, clean and timeless look to their wedding, and The Venue at Oakdale served as the perfect place for the clean, minimal feel she wanted. She added a modern twist with bold floral arrangements. Thanks to the help of her mother Gina, owner of Vase and Vine, and her wedding planner Jessika McCuin, she was able to bring her vision to life.

HOW THEY CUSTOMIZED

The large windows in the ceremony space brightened the moment as the couple said their “I Do’s” while standing between two floral arrangements. The red, pink and blush roses helped create a soft, romantic atmosphere. At the reception, the ivory and white color scheme kept things simple while the contrasting modern florals and candles popped on the tables.

Gabrielle started looking at dresses on Instagram immediately after Hunter proposed. She fell in love with the “Fern” dress designed by Emmy Mae Bridal, which she found at Joon Bridal. As soon as she tried it on, Gabrielle knew she’d found her dream gown. She loved that it had a modern look with lovely lace detailing. For bridal beauty, Gabrielle went with a glowy, natural look using blush and bronze tones. Her bridesmaids wore ivory gowns from Tesori, which complimented the monochromatic theme. Gabrielle loved how great the color looked on her girls. Hunter opted for an all-black suit, and his groomsmen wore black suits with ivory shirts and ties.

Gabrielle wanted an emerald cut ring, and Hunter custom designed it to add special, personalized touches that were meaningful to the couple.

Walls of champagne and wine awaited guests at the cocktail hour and reception. They played a mix of pop, country and throwback songs that set the fun mood for the entire day. The two share a love for the band Muscadine Bloodline, which Hunter introduced Gabrielle to and they chose “I Can’t Tell You No” as the perfect first dance song for their wedding. Later during the reception, Gabrielle hula-hooped and donned a custom denim jacket with “Mrs. Rusher” in glitter letters on the back.
