Maycee Meadors & Nicolas Slinkard
June 12, 2021 / Prairie Grove

Maycee and Nick met in ninth grade and started dating in their senior year of high school. Nick proposed in Santa Monica, California when they went on a trip with their close friends, and he waited for the perfect moment. They were taking pictures at sunset on the beach, and he caught Maycee by total surprise.

THE INSPIRATION

Maycee and Nick chose to get married in their front yard because Nick has lived on that property his entire life and his parents built the place from the ground up, so it is very important to his family and to his relationship with Maycee. They were going to start planning the wedding in 2020 but when the pandemic hit, they decided to wait until it was safe for their friends and family to gather.

Maycee chose mismatched gowns for her bridesmaids so they could all feel confident and happy in their dresses.

HOW THEY CUSTOMIZED

Maycee’s first dress came in and she had to experience every bride’s worst nightmare. It didn’t fit. However, it was a blessing in disguise. She found a Pronovias Hopkins gown at Tesori and it was an absolute dream dress that fit with the bohemian vibe of the wedding created with the tent and antique rugs.

Maycee chose a color for each of her bridesmaids and trusted them to choose a gown that would make them feel confident and beautiful. She chose to wear minimal jewelry and a veil so that she could let her natural beauty shine and feel like a true bride on her big day.

Orange and pink blooms were provided and arranged by PIGMINT Floral Studio. Maycee and Nick knew they wanted the moon gate on the property to be a focal point of the ceremony, and they entrusted PIGMINT Floral Studio to bring it to life with their flowers. The floral design team pulled in other pieces of nature to make it look like the flowers were always meant to be there.

They were happy to have a nontraditional cake. Shelby Lynn’s Cake Shoppe created a beautiful blue cake with vibrant colored flowers wrapping around it. The two-tiered cake married all of their reception décor colors.
