You can thank the Duchess of Cambridge (and the latest royal newlywed, Princess Sophie of Isenburg) for reviving this decades-old wedding gown style: long sleeves.

Fashionable sleeved gowns are popping up in bridal collections by the likes of Monique Lhuillier (who named her new sleeved gown “Catherine”) and Oscar de la Renta - while many other labels are producing blatant knockoffs of Kate Middleton’s McQueen dress, like this one by ABS by Allen Schwartz.

The look is nothing new, but the gowns we’ve spotted for 2012 are clearly timed to capitalize on the Royal Wedding hype.

So, what do you think? Would you wear a gown with sleeves? Love it or hate it?
