Dardanelle-native, Kami Taylor is the education events coordinator for the Arkansas Bankers Association. It was at one of her events five years ago that she met Trumann-native David Coleman, who was attending the event for the Arkansas State Bank Department.

It didn't take long before he had tracked down her phone number and asked her out.

“Her beauty was what first attracted me to her,” David said. “After getting the chance to speak to her, I realized how wonderful of a person she was. Right away, I could see that she was truly a caring person with good looks and a great personality.”

They dated long-distance for a while, as David was living in Fayetteville and Kami in Little Rock. Getting through the work week was hard, Kami recalled, as they waited in anticipation for their Friday night reunions.

As for falling in love, David said it was instant. “It was when I stole my first kiss, the rest is history.”

David eventually moved to Little Rock (where he now works for Simmons First) to be closer to Kami, and a few years later, on a warm summer day, he surprised Kami with a radiant emerald-cut diamond solitaire on a diamond-encrusted band from Sissy's Log Cabin. The engagement ring is a stunner for a stunning woman, indeed.

The couple has planned a wedding for March 17, 2012 in Little Rock. They’ll exchange vows in front of their closest family and friends at Pulaski Heights United Methodist, and celebrate with a reception at the Clinton Presidential Center.

“I think just knowing that she’ll be by my side for the rest of my life is enough for me to look forward to,” David said, when asked what he’s most looking forward to about marriage. “She is truly a joy to be around and I am a very lucky man.”
