Fort Smith native Lauren Thompson and Ralph Bradbury of Little Rock first met in a theater class their sophomore year at the University of Arkansas. Although Lauren left an impression on Ralph, the two were dating other people. Several years later, they ran into each other again in Little Rock. “Little did I know, Ralph had planned meeting me out that night,” Lauren said. A romance followed and after a 10-month engagement, the two wed in the bride’s hometown.

BRIDE’S INSPIRATION
Keeping with a classic, traditional feel, the couple chose the same venues as the bride’s parents’ wedding. Fun, cheery colors for flowers were chosen to complement the summery ceremony.

HOW THEY CUSTOMIZED
“Ralph + Lauren = Ralph Lauren. We tied in this well-known brand by incorporating the colors navy and white on our save-the-dates, wedding invitations and table linens at the wedding,” Lauren said. “‘Ralph Lauren’ was also our inspiration behind our koozie and napkin design.” Since their first date was at an Italian restaurant, they added a pasta bar for guests to create their own pasta dish, and the groom’s cake showed off his love for golf — with seven on the flag for the date of their big day.

HOW THEY SAVED
A friend of the bride helped design save-the-dates, wedding programs and koozies. The bride wore her mother’s veil at the ceremony, a special touch that also saved some cash.
