Lauren Burkhalter & Mark Blanco

Lauren Burkhalter of Shreveport, La. and Mark Blanco of Tulsa, Okla. started dating as juniors at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Right before the two headed off to Europe on a semester abroad – Lauren to France and Mark to Spain – they became official. “Our European adventure was romantic and exhilarating, but we were ready to be in the same city for a change,” Lauren says.
Things progressed after they returned to Fayetteville. In March 2012, on a spring break trip to San Francisco, Mark popped the question on a cliff overlooking the ocean. “He walked me to the edge of the cliff, and when I looked down, written in giant letters was: ‘Lauren, marry me?’ I quickly turned around to see him on his knee with the ring out. And he asked me to be his one and only!”
