We were planning to celebrate our two-year anniversary on Saturday Oct. 12, so Taylor had a full day planned out as a surprise. My entire family was in on the secret and my mom and sister had met with me earlier to eat lunch and get our nails done. Taylor then picked me up in the afternoon and took me to downtown Little Rock. We first went to the Museum of Discovery and explored all the different exhibits and then took me to Sonny Williams Steakhouse, where we had reservations. After a delicious dinner, Taylor asked me if I would like to go walk in the park along the river and watch the sunset. We followed the path that took us through the River Market area down to the Arkansas River. We then approached an open area on the water where a picnic basket and blanket had been placed. He told me that this surprise was for us and we sat down. We enjoyed watching the sunset and drinking a glass of wine when Taylor asked me if I wanted my anniversary gift. He then let me read my anniversary letter which was very sweet and brought me to tears. Taylor then handed me a small package which I unwrapped to reveal a ring box. Once opened he said "I'm going to need your gift back for a minute." He then got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I, of course, said "Yes!" and didn't even let him finish the question. After that he told me the date wasn't over. We then took a ride in a horse and carriage that was waiting for us up to the capital and back to the Hampton Inn. There, I was met with an array of bouquets, rose petals, champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries.
