Amberly Green of Little Rock and Michael Curtis of Rogers will be married on May 31 at DeGray Lake Resort State Park in Bismarck, Ark.

Amberly and Michael assume they met early on their freshman year at Ouachita Baptist University. However, neither remembers officially meeting. Their freshman year, Amberly was assigned to 'kill' Michael in a campus-wide Nerf gun game. She pegged him in the back of the head in the cafeteria in front of a large majority of the student body and easily advanced to the next round of the game. Fast-forward to October of their senior year to when Michael lost a bet and ended up shaving his beard in Amberly’s apartment. A week later, he asked Amberly on their first date. Somewhere in the midst of late-night study sessions and dinner dates, they fell in love. One early August morning, Michael woke Amberly up before the sun rose and told her she had 15 minutes to get ready to go on a hike. Breakfast and coffee in hand, he drove her to Pinnacle Mountain State Park, just a few miles from her apartment. It was a quiet and beautiful hike as they watched the sunrise over Little Rock. When the summit was in sight, Michael ran up the steep incline, leaving Amberly in the dust. As she reached Michael at the top, she found him on one knee. He sweetly promised to love and take care of her; he asked her to be his wife. They took some time to enjoy a private mountaintop and take in what all was soon to commence. When they returned to her apartment, family and close friends were there to celebrate with them over breakfast.
