Audra Waits & Joshua Pettus
April 30, 2016
Moss Mountain Farm, Roland

The workplace is an unlikely place for a budding relationship, but not for Audra Waits of Texarkana and Joshua Pettus of Little Rock. The two coworkers would sometimes join others from the office for happy hour. After a few of these outings, Josh asked Audra on a date.

The two hit it off.

During a family vacation to Sandestin over a Fourth of July holiday, Josh planned dinner at Louisiana Lagniappe, an upscale seafood restaurant with a waterfront view. Upon arrival, Josh asked Audra to go outside. He wanted to show her a dock with gorgeous views. She was walking just ahead of him, when Audra suddenly turned around to find Josh down on one knee. When the two got back up to the restaurant, their loved ones were waiting to celebrate the newly engaged couple.

The Inspiration

Audra always dreamed of getting married in a garden. The two toured Moss Mountain Farm and knew right away it was the perfect place for their wedding. After seeing the rose garden, Audra knew her dream wedding was coming true.

She wanted the décor to complement the natural beauty of the grounds. For the ceremony, the rose garden was décor enough.

The reception décor was a different story. Being an interior designer who loves color, Audra knew she wanted shades of pink, red and orange with pops of navy and yellow woven throughout the reception’s eclectic, bohemian design. A funky mix of furniture – like a farm table paired with Lucite chivari chars – accomplished the look.

How They Customized

Audra knew she did not want run of the mill bridesmaid dresses, so she ordered several frocks she loved online and met with each girl to try on. She handpicked the dress each bridesmaid would wear, creating the line-up off of that. It was more difficult than everyone wearing the same, but it was worth it in the end.
