Ashley Youngblood & John Reeves
October 29, 2016 • Springdale
Fairlane Station

Bryant natives Ashley Youngblood and John Reeves met in high school, but went on their first date 10 years later. Instead of the cliché dating staples most couples start with, Ashley and John decided to show each other their own individual worlds. Ashley took him to a party for Democrats and he took her to Wakarusa. After a year and a half, John moved to Fayetteville so they could concentrate on their relationship. John proposed to Ashley in the middle of a Ben Rector concert while their song, “Forever Like That” played. “It was so fun to later have that song play as I walked down to aisle,” Ashley says.

The Inspiration

Ashley says it was love at first sight with Fairlane Station. The couple adored the shiplap in the main room, the vine-covered walls outdoors and the industrial lighting.

Ashley wanted to play off the rustic and industrial components of the venue by bringing in glam-yet-earthy décor. “We are laid back, fun people and I wanted that to show,” she says. John and Ashley drew inspiration from gold geometric objects and chose green-only florals.

How They Customized

John and Ashley were sure to include a few of their favorite things.

They both love succulents, so each guest went home with their own succulent. Popcorn is their favorite snack, so there was, of course, a popcorn bar.

John is a home-beer brewer and he named his creations after their special day including an I(do)PA and an Oktober(29)fest for guests to enjoy.

John’s father, who is a preacher, started off the ceremony with a special prayer, and many other close friends were asked to partake as vendors.
