Rogers native Allisha Campbell and Washington D.C. native Tyler Hoskings met while living in New York City — through Tinder. Allisha says dating is harder than you'd think in the Big Apple but after meeting for drinks, they quickly hit it off and will tie the knot at the Inn at Carnall Hall next spring.
Here's their engagement story in Allisha's words:
"After dating for almost three years, we thought it was time to start discussing engagement rings. Being a fashion buyer, I am super opinionated and had a lot to say about what type of ring I wanted. So we made a trip to the diamond district in New York, and designed a ring together. That was in April of 2017.
As the summer went on we started planning our big trip of the year to Japan over Thanksgiving. Little did I know, behind the scenes he had asked my parents in June and began planning a big weekend around the engagement. The weekend before our trip to Japan, my parents and sister secretly flew in from Arkansas to New Jersey. I thought we were just joining Tyler's parents for the weekend to celebrate Thanksgiving early. Saturday morning, Tyler's mom took me shopping for last-minute things for the trip (but really just killing time while Tyler took my parents to brunch and got the house set up for the engagement).
When we got back to the house I walked in to Tyler standing in the living room with my mom, dad, sister, his dad and brother. I was in complete shock and immediately started to freak out asking why they were in New Jersey. Then it hit me, while I was hugging everyone (crying, everyone was crying) I was about to get engaged. After the hugging train I got to Tyler, then all I remember is some nice words and then him getting down on a knee. Said yes, then enjoyed the rest of the weekend with both of our families. Tyler wanted to make sure everyone was involved in a special moment in our lives and bringing our families together for the first time."
