Melissa Levy and Michael Barre grew up a mile from each other in Little Rock, but they never met until the day of a mutual friend's wedding. Now the two are getting married themselves!
Here's the proposal story from Melissa:
Around October, we had talked about getting married, and we had looked at rings, so I had a feeling it would be semi soon. Michael had asked me if there were any requests for his proposal. I told him I didn’t want it to be on a holiday. I felt like a holiday proposal would be too expected, and I wanted to be surprised. He said, “Ok so how soon after a holiday?” Every year his family does Thanksgiving at Red Apple Inn & Country Club in Heber Springs. We met them on the golf course the day after Thanksgiving for their annual family Thanksgiving scramble. After 18 holes of golf, Michael's family went to watch the Razorback football game.
Michael was putting his golf clubs in the truck, and he suggested we go to the club house to look at the pretty views of the lake. I thought it was a weird request, but I thought, whatever, I’ll just go. We get out on the deck, and he started acting super weird. I even called him out on it and jokingly said, “Why are you acting so weird? Are you about to propose?” He said, “No. Why would I do that here?” Well, 2 minutes later, he was down on one knee asking me to marry him! I asked for no holidays, so he proposed the day after!
Photographer Erin Wilson took these incredible engagement pics, and we're happy to share them.
