The minute we spotted Caitlin Abiseid and Nick Shull's wedding day back in April, we knew we wanted to include it on our magazine. The color story of deep navy contrasted with bright pops of tangerine, yellow and fuschia is an absolute dream and a departure from so many minimalist, all-white weddings that are popular today.

Once we got to talk with Caitlin about the details that made the day "theirs," we were even more sold. Below are some of the tidbits from Caitlin that we just adored.

"With me being half-Cuban and Nick being half-Italian, we wanted to merge our heritage. The decor screamed Cuba with vibrant colors and palms, but had a touch of whimsy throughout the florals with a mixture of wildflowers. The food reflected Nick’s Italian side with pasta, wine, and bread. We wanted the feel to be fun, laid-back, and one heck of a party."

"We chose the Heifer pavilion partly because of the size of the space. Also we loved that it was an outdoor option that was covered just in case ‘April showers’ were an issue. Nick and I both love animals and country life, so finding a little piece of our pasts in the middle of downtown Little Rock felt so natural to our upbringing."

"As people arrived to the reception the seating chart was accompanied by a sign that read “Take a shot and find your spot” A comforting shot of patron garnished with a lime was on the table awaiting our guests. It was a little chilly that evening so the warming welcome was one that helped get guests excited for the night ahead."

"Our first dance was one we learned and performed and it truly was one of the most fun experiences. Learning the dance together really bonded us in the months leading up to our big day. Having that intimate moment together with all of our closest family and friends cheering us on was the highlight of the reception."

We also couldn't get enough of their awesome getaway car. It was a vintage, Cuban-style getaway car. Yet another perfect nod to their theme!
