In anticipation of the upcoming INSPIRE Wedding Shows, we'll be sitting down with a few of the show's partners and getting the scoop on their business, what they offer brides and grooms and what they're looking forward to at the next INSPIRE show!

Next up in the series is Myka Lyles, co-owner of She Said Yes Bridal in Rogers and She Said Yes in The Heights in Little Rock. These beautiful bridal boutiques carry a wide assortment of gowns from designers like Martina Liana, Willowby, Lazaro and Allure Bridal.

Read on to find out more about Myka and the story behind She Said Yes!

What inspired you to start your business?

Myka Lyles: "I was fortunate to be able to manage She Said Yes Bridal for four years before purchasing the business with my mother-in-law Lorrel in 2014. We opened our second location, She Said Yes Bridal in The Heights, in 2017 and view our business as part of our ministry and a way to reach out into our community. We love bridal and being able to help women find their dream gown."

Has the wedding industry always been something you’ve been interested in?

ML: "I was introduced to the industry when I got married in 2009. That is what sparked my interest and the rest is history!"

What’s one of your favorite things about your job?

ML: "People! Meeting our clients and being about to create relationships through the shopping experience is very special, as well as working one on one with our team and helping grow young leaders. We also LOVE attending market and meeting the designers. It’s so inspiring to see how gowns start as sketches on paper then transform into real-life artwork!"

What do you love about getting to help brides find their dream dress?

ML: "That moment when the bride lights up when trying on gowns and you start to see all the pieces line up! We feel so blessed to have the rare opportunity to play a small role in such a HUGE day and what will be a lasting memory for our brides Recently I had a bride who, after trying on four gowns, put on the fifth gown. We get to the stage in front of her family and she burst into tears and said 'I love this dress… I get to marry my best friend…' there wasn’t a dry eye in the store. We keep tissues handy, that’s for sure!"

What’s your favorite gown silhouette?

ML: "This is a tough one, I would say I lean towards fit-and-flare or A-line, though it really depends on the gown itself!"

What are your favorite trends you’re seeing in the industry right now?

ML: "New necklines!! We are seeing more halter, square and bateau necklines for this upcoming season. We are also seeing more feminine details such as textured lace, bows and fuller skirts!"

What’s your go-to advice for brides looking for their dream dress?

ML: "It’s great to have an idea of what you want to try on, but don’t limit yourself to certain styles. Be opened-minded and enjoy the experience. Also, on Tuesdays, we do “Tip Tuesday” on Instagram covering all things bridal."

What are you looking forward to the most with the upcoming INSPIRE show?

ML: "The creativity!! We can really think outside of the box and just have fun with the runway looks. It’s also really exciting to see what our fellow vendor friends come up with."
