Brittny and Que Wyrick crossed paths while at Arkansas Tech University in 2016. They started out as friends for about two years before they started dating. Then, Que popped the question after a year and a half of dating at the same spot where they had their first date — the marina in Russellville.

Their original wedding date was April 3 at New Life Church in Conway with a guest list of 300. Brittny's mom and family live in North Carolina so they would have to travel to be there for the wedding.

Two weeks before their actual wedding date, the couple got a call from one of their pastors that said they had the option to get married the upcoming weekend (which at the time was four days away!) with up to 50 guests. With the social distancing guidelines due to the coronavirus, Brittny and Que made the difficult decision to change up their entire wedding day.

The result was planned in four days and went from a guest list of what was originally 300 people down to 25. Brittny's mother couldn't travel, so her guests FaceTimed the ceremony for her to see her daughter and son-in-law tie the knot.

"After this my perspective on weddings changed immensely," Brittny says. "I was under a lot of stress with money, my bridesmaids, decor, everything that came with planning a wedding prior to the change. But God quickly changed things and reminded me of what was really important! It’s so easy to get wrapped up in the planning and the details. It’s not about the flowers or the decor or whose there and who is not! It’s about the love you share with your partner and the covenant you want to create under God. It’s about the promise/vows you are giving to your partner. When the lights go out at night it’s just you, your spouse and God. Everything else is just a memory!"

And what gorgeous memories were made! The modern wedding elopement turned out to be absolutely perfect and Brittny said it was one of the most intimate experiences of her life. From the rainy portraits to the sweet FaceTime moments with her mom, we love how this couple turned an unfortunate situation into a beautiful one.
