Get to know Kimberly Parkinson, owner of Hot Springs’ newest bridal salon Something Bleu Bridal Boutique.

Who better to help brides find their dream dress than a former wedding planner? On top of more than 24 years of wedding planning experience, Kimberly Parkinson also managed a bridal boutique.

“I have loved wedding dresses since my very first job in a bridal boutique at the age of 20!” she says. It was a “lifelong dream [to] open my very own bridal boutique. Helping a bride find her dream dress is a tremendous honor.”

The Dundee, Illinois native and former Chicago area-based planner relocated to Hot Springs two years ago, and Kimberly wasted no time bringing her love of working with brides to the area.

“I saw that [Hot Springs] was a fabulous wedding destination but offered no in-town bridal store,” she says.

PRO TIP
► “Shop early. Buy your dress as soon as possible because they take time to order and you need time for alterations.” –Kimberly

In September 2019, Kimberly debuted Something Bleu Bridal Boutique, carrying popular brands like Eve of Milady, Mon Cheri, Moonlight and Christina Wu. And the beautiful showroom is located in the dreamy historic district of downtown Hot Springs.

“My boutique is appointment-only and gives you an intimate and exclusive shopping experience,” Kimberly says. “You are lavished with one-on-one personal attention and assistance in finding the dress of your dreams!”

1. “Wedding dresses with colors, such as blush pink, champagne or gold.”
2. “I love a veil. It is a romantic finishing touch that completes the bride. It also provides many gorgeous photo opportunities.”
3. “Of course, I love adding a touch of 'something blue…' maybe a pair of blue topaz earrings, a blue floral for your hair or bouquet, or a sexy pair of blue heels under your dress.”
4. “I love that moment when the bride first appears walking down the aisle. It’s a magical moment that brings tears to my eyes!”
5. “Bubbles bring happiness — I love champagne or prosecco to toast the happy couple.”
