JACQUELINE LOZIER & MICHAEL HELD
December 18, 2021 / Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art
Jacqueline and Michael met at the University of Arkansas through Young Life when she was a Freshman and he was a Junior. Jacqueline’s first impression of Michael was that he was intentional, hilarious and (of course!) good-looking. They quickly became close friends and, years later, he finally asked her on a date – the rest is history! Michael proposed to Jacqueline on a cliff overlooking the ocean in Mexico with a custom ring from Sissy’s Log Cabin. What a fairytale moment!
THE INSPIRATION
Jacqueline chose to incorporate white, black and silver into their wedding by featuring white florals such as orchids, garden roses, hydrangeas and baby's breath. The minimal all-white color palette gave an elegant & clean look for their big day. She wanted to push traditional boundaries and make their wedding unique.
Planning her wedding with her mom, Jacqueline felt confident in her vision for their wedding day. She hired Brittany from Brittany Bloom Events & Design as their month-of coordinator to pull all the details together and communicate with the vendors so her mom could relax. Jacqueline picked everything out with the purpose of making it minimal, classy and clean.
“I think that's what people loved about our wedding...it didn;t have all the trendy wedding décor, but it had a more timeless look. We focused on food, drink and an atmosphere that gave an upscale dinner party-feel.”
- Jaqueline Lozier
The wedding trend she loves the most right now are bridal bows. She feels they’re so feminine, glamorous and fun! Her wedding heels from BHLDN have the most adorable boys on the pointed toe, which added a playful detail to her modern look.
THE ART GALLERIES
HOW THEY CUSTOMIZED
Jacqueline had dreamed about the massive square-line baby's-breath arch every night and wanted to bring it to life. According to Brittany, her florist had to buy out two floral farms-worth of baby’s-breath to create this original arch and aisle design.
“I had never seen anything so beautiful in my life. It looked like heaven came down to earth. The florals for our ceremony glowed in the glass room and created an ambiance that most people had not experienced before.”
- Jaqueline Lozier
Michael picked out their first dance song, which was “Heaven’s Knife” by Josh Garrels. Jacqueline thinks it’s the perfect song to describe what marriage means to them.
