MACIE LUMMUS & JORDAN COX
October 21, 2023 | E.O. Manees House | North Little Rock | BJ Matthews
Macie and Jordan met on Tinder while attending two different colleges. Their conversations moved to Instagram before they eventually exchanged numbers, and their first date was at Mellow Mushroom in Little Rock.
“We ate and talked for a few hours, and a woman even came over to our table to tell us how cute we were,” Macie said. “It went so well that we decided to hang out again a weekend or two later…and now here we are nearly seven years later.”
The couple got engaged on a sunny evening in June. Jordan had a friend ask Macie to get drinks right after work while he organized everything with the photographer. He took her on a walk at the sculpture garden in downtown Little Rock. It was there that Jordan asked Macie to marry him.
“Jordan said that he was going to wait and plan something for the weekend, but once he actually had the ring, he didn’t want to wait another day,” Macie said.

Q & A
Q: What was your favorite aspect of the decor?
A: “Both E.O. Manees and The Baker are so gorgeous on their own that we didn’t have to work too hard decor-wise. I mean, have you seen the gorgeous Magnolia trees at Manees? However, my absolute favorite piece from the day is the arch that my mom made herself.”
Q: Was there an extra-special moment you’ll never forget?
A: “Is it bad if I say, eating pizza with a Diet Dr. Pepper at the after-party? At the after-party, when our friends made a circle around us and clapped and danced along with us to “Padam Padam” by Kylie Minogue. THAT was a moment. I really enjoyed seeing how our families and friends, most of whom were meeting for the first time, mingled together to celebrate our day.”
Q: What was your most worth-it splurge?
A: “Having a solid photographer that you know will not only deliver stunning photos but make you and everyone around you feel comfortable (and pretty!) will always be worth it,” Macie said.
Q: What is your secret to wedding planning success?
A: “Don’t be afraid to ask for help! Something I wish I had done more, honestly.”
FITTING FAVORS
“At the after-party, we had customized matchboxes that said, ‘It’s a match!’ as a callback to how we first met on Tinder,” Macie said.
TASTE OF HOME
“Jordan’s favorite dessert is cheesecake, so that’s what he chose for his groom’s cake,” Macie said. “He had been perfecting his own recipe for a couple of years now, and decided he wanted to make his own for the wedding.”
