ADDISON EDWARDS & MILES HICKMAN
November 4, 2023 | The Reserve at Hot Springs | Nouvel Photo & Film
Miles is not only terrible at keeping secrets, but Addison prides herself on being incredibly sluethy when it comes to secrets. She was convinced Miles wouldn’t be able to keep their engagement a secret but was quickly proven wrong by Miles’ elaborate Christmas-inspired engagement plan.
“He pulled off the most special surprise,” Addison said. “We have a tradition of going to see the Christmas tree at the Capital Hotel with our best friends; they texted and asked if we could go on the night of December 3 and booked a reservation for us at Table 42 at the Clinton Library.”
She didn’t see it coming when Miles popped the question in front of their favorite Christmas tree, but it wasn’t a surprise to herself or their friends and family who’d gathered to celebrate that Addison said yes.

Q & A
Q: What inspired your color palette?
A: “Our wedding venue inspired my color palette,” Addison said. “It is the most beautiful white house, and the minute I saw it, I knew I wanted to accentuate the beautiful green lawn and bring in the most gorgeous colorful flowers.”
Q: What was your favorite moment of the day, and why?
A: “I think my favorite part of the day was getting ready with all of my best friends, just having them around me all day was more than I could’ve ever asked for. Getting to see all the vendors set up through the windows and just laughing with my best friends was the best.”
Q: What personalizations did you plan for the wedding day?
A: “My mom is the most creative person in the world. She did most of my personalization ... She painted a welcome banner that hung at the entrance of our ceremony that was surrounded by the most beautiful flowers. She made another farewell sign for our exit, it took our exit to the next level! Each sign she hand drew, along with making the moss initials for our dance floor!”
Q: Was there a special detail from your decor that sticks out to you the most?
A: “It’s hard to choose between the moss initials for the dancefloor or our exit banner. “The moss initials added a unique aspect to the dancefloor that I had never seen before, it made all of the pictures look so cool!”
Q: Tell us about searching for your wedding dress.
A: “My mom remembered that she saw Joon post [a picture of] my dress, so she dug through their Instagram and found it. We called Beth at Joon and she helped us through the entire process, and even ordered my underdress from Alexandra Greco because she didn’t carry it! Joon was amazing to work with.”
