Donaldson native Allison Burroughs will soon say "I do" to Benton resident Tommy Atkisson. The couple is getting married on Saturday, June 6, at Carter Farm in Benton.

It felt like everything fell right into place when I met Tommy. We both attended the party of a mutual friend and spent the entire night talking to everyone but one another. Finally, I got the courage to walk over, steal the fedora right off the top of his head and ask him to dance.
Our first date included some great coffee and even better conversation. We went to the park one afternoon, and before we knew it, it was 4 a.m. and time to part ways. After a month full of dates (and countless other excuses to see one another), we began officially "dating."
One year and two months later, as we're walking through downtown Hot Springs to what I was told was a family dinner, Tommy pulled me in between two bathhouses, dropped to one knee and asked me to be his wife in front of our family and closest friends (he even hired a photographer to capture it!). I happily obliged.
Happily indeed; look at that smile! Congrats, Tommy and Allison!
