It was at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville that Morgan Langford of Jonesboro and Brad Smith of Magnolia first met. During their sophomore year, they were set up by two friends who believed they would make a perfect match. Those friends were right. Morgan and Brad hit it off, spending many a late night at a nearby Jimmy John’s hanging out and falling more in love.
Seven years later, Brad and Morgan laced up their tennis shoes and took to the streets of Nashville, Tennessee, to compete in a half marathon. A full 13.1 miles later, Morgan was in for a big surprise. After crossing the finish line, Brad asked to spend the rest of his life with her.
The Inspiration
Morgan had her heart set on a more contemporary feel for their big day, which made the Clinton Center the perfect setting. They started with floral inspiration from Jeff Leatham, the artistic director at the Four Seasons in Paris who has been voted the top hotel florist in Europe for several years. With this ambience in mind, she worked with her planner and florist to create a space that was both welcoming and modern at the same time.
How They Customized
A focal point of the room was the candle and flower wall featuring bursts of yellows and oranges against the Little Rock skyline. Guests enjoyed personal favorite eats from the couple, such as Brad’s favorite cake from Magnolia Bakery and Morgan’s beloved mac and cheese. The two are devoted to their dogs, so they gave away treats for guests to take home to their own furry friends. They also sent guests home with their favorite Jimmy John’s sandwiches as a special nod to their humble beginnings.
