If you're in the market for a venue with a rustic chic vibe, look no further than the new Bella Terra Estate in Cabot.
The History
Jennifer and Carter Wallace had been in the market to downsize homes and buy some land. Both of their children were heading off to college and they were preparing to become empty nesters. Once the two laid eyes on their current location, it was love at first sight. Hence the name, “Bella Terra,” which means beautiful land in Italian.
Jennifer had been an interior designer for years and coordinated many wedding and events for friends and family. After working in many different venues, the Wallaces thought they knew what setup would work well for a venue.
“Our location is in the country, but still conveniently just five minutes from town,” Jennifer says. “We tried to incorporate everything that we would want in a wedding venue into ours and so far it has worked great.”
The Space Itself
Bella Terra’s decor taps into the popular rustic-chic feel. The barn features three large 6-foot chandeliers, polished concrete floors, reclaimed wood walls and flooring and for that touch of rustic chic it also has a bit of corrugated metal.
“When you walk in we want you to feel the barn has been here for 50 years, but have all of the modern comforts of home,” Jennifer says. “We feel that it’s rustic but elegant so it is well suited for not only casual weddings but also the most elegant of events, as well.”
There is over 6,000 square-feet of heated and cooled space with multiple bathrooms. The space boasts a catering kitchen featuring a commercial ice maker, warming ovens, refrigerator, freezer and stove. There’s also a bridal suite with a full private bathroom, bedroom, full kitchen and TV, as well as groom’s quarters with a changing and relaxation areas and TV.
Venue Perks
Bella Terra offers an extensive rental list of items that can be borrowed for your big day such as catering supplies, rustic decorations, a frozen drink machine, popcorn machine and more.
“We have a state-of-the-art sound system that is simple to operate,” Jennifer says. “Just plug in a computer or iPhone and play your playlist. You can save money on a DJ or if they choose to hire a DJ, we allow them to use our system. It saves them the time of setting up their equipment.”
The venue offers 200 chairs, 20 tables and linens for your reception as well as 16 bistro tables and 64 bar stools. There’s a baby grand piano, outdoor fire pits and 10 acres of beautiful pastures to enjoy. Arrangements can also be made for the bride and groom to spend their wedding night at the estate for no extra charge.
A Perfect Blend
The Wallaces used old and new materials to bring that rustic chic feel to life. They had to disassemble an existing horse barn on the property and nearly tear down a storage barn, as well. But they salvaged wood from the horse barn and used it to build a bar, bathroom cabinets, kitchen cabinets, benches and more. All of which makes the barn look much older than it is. The storage barn on the property had corrugated metal siding, some of which they later used on the interior of the new wedding barn.
The Wallace’s first wedding at their new venue was was May 14. The Wallace knew, and the bride knew, that the venue would not be completely finished. It was just a question of how far along the venue would be. Thankfully, all that was left was trim work on the second floor.
“Having a deadline with a wedding help us push harder to get it completed,” Jennifer says. “We were completely finished with everything by early June and were open for business.”
Jennifer says it is shaping up to be a busy 2016 and very busy 2017 for Bella Terra Estate.
