Nestled between the Ozark National Forest and the Boston Mountains sits a sprawling new wedding and corporate event venue – Deer Mountain Events. Located in Ozark, the idyllic open space is just 45 miles east of Fort Smith and 60 miles south of Fayetteville. Deer Mountain Ranch even has a claim to fame in that Oprah Winfrey herself has graced the mountaintop venue.

The ranch was officially established in 1972 as a privately owned family ranch. For 44 years the ranch was used strictly as a family retreat. In 2016, the ranch was opened to the public for weddings, corporate meetings, tours and other special events.

When it comes to finding the perfect spot for your ceremony and reception, there are several picturesque locations to choose from. Many guests are enamoured with Deer Mountain’s 50-foot wooden cross. For smaller events, Austin’s Rustic Cabin is great spot that overlooks a scenic bluff.

“Another amazing wedding location is our Water Clock which sits on White Oak Creek and overlooks a serene meadow,” says Austin Fleck, property manager of Deer Mountain Events. “No matter what time of year it is, wedding guests love to see the Water Clock dump water into White Oak Creek every 30 minutes.”

At the 50-foot wooden cross and Water Clock locations, Deer Mountain event planners are able to set up their 320-person tent, with the added perk of air conditioning and heat available depending on the season.

“We want to tailor the setup to the needs of each bride interested in getting married at Deer Mountain,” Fleck says. “There are many other amenities that come with our elegant tent setup including electricity to accommodate wedding vendors for each event.”

Some other amenities include hand-carved wooden pews, modern restrooms and handmade arbors. The venus also offers day-of access to the ranch for wedding coordinators and brides for decorations and design. A Bridal Lodge is also available to the wedding party, and the bride and groom have the option of staying in the lodge on their wedding night free of charge. A shuttle service across the ranch is offered for wedding guests the day of the event. Pending a fire ban by the county, fireworks can be shot off in designated areas.

Deer Mountain Events will be hosting their inaugural open house on April 23. The event will be a chance to see first-hand what the location has to offer and A-list wedding vendors will be in attendance, as well. To reserve your spot, call (972) 685-0017 or email deermountainevents@gmail.com.
