Cyndi and Jakeb are the result of a little family matchmaking. Cyndi’s dad introduced her to Jakeb, a coworker’s younger brother, at a lake cookout. Four years later, they were sipping drinks on the veranda of the Arlington Hotel in Hot Springs. Jakeb suggested they check out the newly renovated pool. Instead, he took Cyndi to a room filled with rose petals and balloons and asked Cyndi to spend her life with him.
The Anthony Chapel in Hot Springs set the stage for the classic winter wedding. Navy bridesmaid dresses and gold set the tone, while Jakeb shook things up with a burgundy tux.
Their classic ceremony wasn’t without a few laughs. Jakeb’s uncle, who served as the officiant, realized during the ceremony he’d thrown away the sheet of paper with Jakeb’s vows and ran off to dig it out of the trash. The couple says the goof was hilarious and a great icebreaker.
While they kept the wedding ceremony classic, the couple shook things up at the reception. In addition to a small two-tier cake, guests enjoyed donuts from a special donut wall built by Cyndi’s dad. For a guestbook, they asked their friends and family to sign a cartoon picture of themselves and their cat, Juice. Cyndi and Jakeb both love Mexican food and margaritas so that’s exactly what they served.
