Photographers spend almost all their time behind the camera, so our team at Arkansas Bride decided to turn the lens around in our online "Meet the Photographer" series.

Who's first, you ask? We asked the husband and wife duo behind The Shrewsburys to tell us all about their vision for wedding day photography, how they got started in the wedding biz more than three years ago and how they relax after a long day of wedding craziness!

Without further ado, here's a dive into the world of Christine and Sean Shrewsbury.

How would you describe your photography style?

We love capturing authentic moments that are full of light, love and fun! After all, they’re photos that our clients will cherish for years and years to come. We strive for our clients to feel confident and comfortable in front of the camera, so we like to have fun, we love to laugh and we want all of the time we spend with our clients to be just that! Our goal is to capture every detail of our client’s love story, beginning to end, just the way they want to remember it!

What are moments you make sure to capture on a wedding day?

From the first look to the dance party at your reception, we believe no detail of your wedding day is too small to be overlooked. Sometimes, it’s an heirloom pearl bracelet that has been passed down for generations, other times it’s a special song between a daddy and his little girl as he twirls her around the dance floor for the last time. With every package including two photographers, we make sure we are there to capture it all.

What do you love about being a wedding photographer?

Everything about a wedding day is full of once in a lifetime moments that cannot be recreated. To be a part of that and to be entrusted with that responsibility is truly a special thing. In a nutshell, we are "people" people! Photographing weddings opens up a whole new avenue to meet people and become friends with couples that we wouldn’t have met otherwise!

What’s your favorite part of photographing a wedding?

We love being able to be there to make our couples feel like a million bucks on their wedding day! There’s something so special about being there to capture once in a lifetime moments exactly the way they deserve to be remembered. We love being able to be a source of calm for our couples on a day that has the potential to be full of chaos. Our goal is to be more than “just the photographer” and be able to help in whatever way we can.

What price points can brides expect?

Our wedding packages start at $2,000 and include two photographers and a complimentary engagement or bridal session.

What’s one piece of advice you like to give brides on their big day?

Be YOU. Choose the colors, the flowers, the food, the dress that YOU want! At the end of the day, you’re getting MARRIED! If your tablecloths come in and they’re eggshell instead of ivory, that sweet fiance of yours will still be waiting at the other end of the aisle to say “I do.” Let all of the details of your wedding day ring true to who you are as a couple.

Your guests (and you) will remember your cute little flower girl as she tries to master throwing petals and walking at the same time, they remember watching your mom let loose and do the stanky leg at your reception and most of all, they’ll remember getting to share in the most special day of your whole life and witnessing the love buzzing through the room as you promise forever to each other.

When you’re not shooting weddings, what do you like to do with your spare time?

We are fans of all things Razorbacks, especially football! In the fall, you can catch us on the Hill calling the Hogs whenever we don’t have cameras in our hands!

We love love LOVE to travel to see new places and meet new people! We spend most of our free time volunteering with the high school ministry at New Life Church and love every minute of hanging out with the next generation! Last but certainly not least, we have a four-legged fur baby named Sadie that we love to get outside and adventure with!

What’s your favorite way to unwind after a busy wedding weekend?

Post-wedding day breakfasts are taken VERY seriously in the Shrews household. After a busy weekend, you can typically find us on the couch with Netflix and a full breakfast spread. Biscuits, bacon, eggs... we take breakfast so seriously we have even stopped by Walmart in the middle of the night after wrapping up a wedding just to pick up a pack of bacon!
