Our next photographer in our "Meet the Photographers" series is Ashton Rail. Ashton is relatively new to the wedding scene (she's been at it for a year and a half), but she's already wowed us with her bright and airy photography.

Before doing wedding photography full-time, Ashton went to school for photography at John Brown University and now she's putting her degree to use. We chatted with her about all things weddings below!

How would you describe your photography style?

Bright, colorful, and authentic.

What are moments you make sure to capture on a wedding day?

I love the little in-between moments... like when the mom sees her daughter for the first time and you can tell how proud she is. Or when the groom dances with his grandma and both of them tear up. But I also love first looks!

What do you love about being a wedding photographer?

This might sound cheesy but I just love love. Moments such as seeing how the groom looks at his bride, how a father dances with his daughter and how the bride glows are just a few of my favorite things that tug at my heartstrings. There’s something special about being a part of something so intimate between a couple. I consider this a huge honor.

What’s your favorite part of photographing a wedding?

Besides seeing the couple in love, I love some colorful bouquets, beautiful wedding gowns, good cake and dancing!

What price points can brides expect?

My wedding packages start at $1,800 and go to $4,100. My elopement packages start at $800 and go to $1,500!

What’s one piece of advice you like to give brides on their big day?

It’s not about what the table linens or other details look like (while they are pretty)... what matters is the fact that you are about to marry the love of your life. Focus on that!

When you’re not shooting weddings, what do you like to do with your spare time?

I love to bake. More specifically, I love making up “healthy desserts.” But I also have amazing friends and family that I try to hang out with whenever I can!

What’s your favorite way to unwind after a busy wedding weekend?

A long bath, a cup of hot tea, some good food, and a marvelous book.
