The next highlight in our Meet the Photographers series is none other than Nancy Cole of Nancy Cole Photography. Nancy also works for the American Data Network, but she's been a professional wedding photographer for two years now.
She describes her photography style as "authentic, genuine and timeless," and now she's going to share everything from why she loves wedding photography to how she spends her free time.
What are moments you make sure to capture on a wedding day?
I always make sure to capture those candid moments on wedding day — those moments such as your mother buttoning the back of your dress with a sweet smile, to the tears in the groom's eyes as you walk down the aisle toward him. The joy, excitement and all of the perfectly curated details. The daddy-daughter dance, the daddy-daughter first look. The handholding that occurs between the bride and the groom as they listen to the toasts and sweet compliments from family and friends.
What do you love about being a wedding photographer?
I love establishing and maintaining a lasting relationship with my clients. They are not only clients — we become friends. I feel that it is an honor and a privilege to be in such an intimate space with them on their wedding day, and something that I do not take for granted.
What is your favorite part of photographing a wedding?
This is such a hard question! All of the details, the tears of joy, laughter, dancing the night away, hearing all of the good things others have to say about the bride and groom!
What price points can brides expect?
Brides and grooms can expect to spend between $2,300-$3,500.
What's one piece of advice you like to give brides on their big day?
Relax, and enjoy this most cherished and joyous moment that you have been dreaming about. Do not sweat the small things — you only want to remember those joyous times during the ceremony and reception and all of those smiling faces that witnessed you saying "I do" to your spouse.
When you're not shooting weddings, what do you like to do with your spare time?
You can find me either spending some good quality time with my daughter Ashton or spending time laughing and joking with my friends. I also love traveling and meeting new people and learning about different cultures.
What's your favorite way to unwind after a busy wedding weekend?
A big hearty breakfast! I also like to catch up on a few of my favorite shows!
