Our next photographer to spotlight is Arkansas native Benjamin Martin. He's been in the wedding biz for seven years after graduating from high school in 2011.

Ben describes his photography style as bright, vibrant and modern. A great example of his work is this wedding we featured in our latest issue — so colorful, crisp and natural.

Without further ado, here's a look inside the life of Ben.

What are moments you make sure to capture on a wedding day?

Of course, I always capture all the major traditional moments on a wedding day, but I love shooting all the smaller moments that couples may not be able to catch during the moment.

What do you love about being a wedding photographer?

I think the thing I love most about this job is all the unique connections and relationships I’ve made with so many people from different walks of life that I normally wouldn’t have crossed paths with. I mean, we are side by side with the couple during some of the most important moments of their lives — that’s a major bonding experience!

What’s your favorite part of photographing a wedding?

Ahh, this is hard! I enjoy it all, but first looks are probably my top moments to shoot. Just the couple, no crowd. Capturing those authentic emotions… I tear up almost every time.

What’s one piece of advice you like to give brides on their big day?

Talk to your photographer before planning your ceremony time! This is something that a lot of people don’t think about, but your photographer knows all the sunset times for every season. If you’re having an outdoor ceremony but not doing a first look, then a ceremony right at sunset would not be the best decision, because you’ll still need time after the ceremony to get all those important shots! Your photographer can suggest the perfect time.

What price points can brides expect?

My collections range from $2,200-$4,900 and all include a complimentary engagement session and digital files!

When you’re not shooting weddings, what do you like to do with your spare time?

Video games, playing piano, spending time with my nieces & nephews (Ali, Oliver, Calvin and Lucy!) and fostering rescue dogs from Rescue Road (along with my own three dachshunds).

What’s your favorite way to unwind after a busy wedding weekend?

This job can be so much fun, but weddings can also be stressful — so I normally spend my Mondays playing video games and absorbing a bunch of reality TV.
