Patricia Elliott of Tulsa, Okla. and Wollongong, Australia resident Rotnei Clark are engaged to be married on June 7, 2014 at the Castle on Stagecoach in Little Rock.

Rotnei and I were both student-athletes at the University of Arkansas. He says he first noticed me at an athlete barbecue early that school year, but it wasn't until after Christmas that year at church I spotted him. I made a special effort to say hello to an old friend, who I hardly knew, who happened to be sitting by Rotnei. I told my friend I thought he was kind of a sissy on the basketball court, but of course that didn't hurt his dashing looks. The next day I received a text from a unknown number saying 'Hey you, it's the one you call a sissy.' Excited, blushing and a little embarrassed, I'll never forget the feeling walking across the cross walk to class that day on Jan. 14, 2010. After our first date, I will never forget running in to my roommate and telling her 'I had found the man I wanted to marry.' Little did I know what the Lord had in store for us. This started our journey of continuous love, joy, forgiveness, hope, encouragement, strength, unity and faith in the Lord's plan.
