Flower crowns and hair accessories are back in a big way, but make no mistake — this is not a new trend. Flower crowns were common in ancient Greece and it was especially popular to wear them at special occasions to honor the gods. During the same era, the laurel leaf wreath came into fashion (think: Julius Caesar).

Since then, flower crowns have been cropping up throughout history like the Victorian era flower crowns. Queen Victoria wore an orange blossom wreath in her hair for her wedding to Prince Albert in 1840. After that, orange blossoms became so closely associated with weddings that the phrase "to gather orange blossoms" took on the meaning "to seek a wife."

Fast-forward to now. We see flower crowns of different variations in almost every wedding. Flower crown or princess tiara, whatever you’re considering, be sure it’s something you’re going to love 10 years from now. They’re trendy, sure, but we want you to look like YOU on your wedding day, not like 1,000 other Pinterest brides.

Verdict: We love them, but only the right type, on the right bride, in moderation.

Try this: Take a handful of photos in your hair accessory, then toss it aside. That way you didn’t take every photo in it, on the off chance you live to regret wearing it at all.
