We're head over heels for this destination wedding in Music City.

How They Met

Derick Bores and Lisa Dumaine both moved to Arkansas in 2013 for work. Football season began and the two ended up at the same table with new friends at Farrell's Bar & Grill cheering on the Razorbacks. The following day Lisa was playing in a dodgeball tournament and her team needed an additional player so she invited Derick to play on Team 'Merica.

"Unfortunately, we lost the tournament to a team of 10-year-olds but I was impressed with his dodgeball skills," she says. "We went on our first date the following week to the Walmart Amp (the old one in Fayetteville) for a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert. The rest was history."

The Engagement

Two and a half years later, the couple was in the process of building their new home. One Saturday morning, March 12 to be exact, Lisa and Derick went to check out the progress.

"We were standing in our future living room when Derick starting talking about building a home together and building a life together," Lisa remembers. "Before I knew it, he was down on one knee with a beautiful ring!"

The Wedding

Wedding date: August 19, 2017
Venue: Belle Meade Plantation, Nashville, Tennessee

The couple chose to tie the knot in Nashville on the beautiful Belle Meade Plantation. Belle Meade is one of the largest Thoroughbred horse farms in the South. Lisa said seeing the gardens for the first time gave her goosebumps.

"I could imagine myself walking down the long stone aisle with my dad with my handsome groom waiting for me at the end," she says. "We loved how each part of the night flowed through the grounds allowing guests to see different parts of the property, which is a museum during the day."

The wedding was held in the gardens, the dinner was held in the stables and the reception in the carriage house, allowing guests to see different parts of the expansive grounds.

"We wanted to have minimal décor since the venue is full of history and is beautiful on its own," Lisa says. "Simplicity was key."

Since guests traveled from 17 different states to join the couple on their big day, Lisa and Derick wanted to make sure that got a taste of Nashville. The couple served barbecue and brisket with a mashed potato bar from Martin's Bar-B-Que Joint.

Of course, a Nashville wedding wouldn't be complete without some music.

"8 South had an 8-piece band complete with choreographed dances, outfit changes and tons of energy, which kept our guests on the dance floor all night," Lisa says.
