Cassie McMillan and Matthew Spann of Little Rock will exchange vows on Aug. 2, 2014 at the Benton Event Center in Benton.

Matthew and I have known each other our whole lives, as we are from the same town, but we never dated until he returned from his deployment in the Navy in February 2012.
Matthew's 25th birthday was Aug. 24, 2013 and I wanted to make it special, so his stepmom, Melanie, suggested that I let her help me plan a surprise birthday party. For over a month, I spent time secretly coordinating his birthday and making sure that all of his closest friends and family were there.
On the day of his birthday, I was a nervous wreck all day about getting him to his party. He seemed pretty calm.
When we got to the party location and walked inside, we were taken to a private room where everyone surprised Matthew for his birthday. Little did I know, they all had a surprise for me, including Matthew. We ate dinner and then were instructed to play a game. So, everyone was instructed to come to the front of the room one at a time, and ask the next person a question. You could ask any question you wanted to ask, but you first had to hold a mustache over your lip and say "I mustache you a question."
The game started on the opposite side of the room, and would have ended with Matthew and I.
At this point, everything happened so fast. Matthew began to thank everyone for making his birthday special. He continued to say that he wanted to make my day special as well, and looked at me and said "I mustache you a question. Will you marry me?"
I was completely caught off guard. I had no idea. Everyone knew about this, but me. I couldn't have asked for a better moment with friends and both families there!
